List a place

Effective 2026-08-16

This page explains OpenPlace's role as a marketplace platform, limits of liability to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law (including in Australia and New Zealand), and copyright in our brand and site content. It should be read with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Platform role

OpenPlace connects hosts and guests. That handshake is the core of the product: a host lists a spare place at a real-world experience; a guest discovers it and may request to join. OpenPlace provides software and marketplace connection tools. We do not organise, supervise, or control the experience, venue, or gathering itself. Hosts and guests deal with each other for what happens before, during, and after the event.

Experiences and events

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OpenPlace is not liable for what happens at experiences or events listed on the platform, including without limitation:

  • Personal injury, illness, or death
  • Loss, theft, or damage to property
  • Disputes between hosts and guests (or among guests), including cancellations, no-shows, and quality of the experience
  • Accuracy of listing descriptions, venue conditions, or host or guest conduct
  • Third-party venues, transport, food, alcohol, or activities connected to a place

Nothing in this page excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including any non-excludable consumer guarantees that may apply in Australia or New Zealand).

Service availability

We aim to keep OpenPlace reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the platform is provided on an "as available" basis, and we are not liable for losses arising from downtime, bugs, or dependence on third-party services (including Stripe) beyond what the law allows us to limit.
